Musgrave's New Ad

(Musgrave 2.0 continues. – promoted by Colorado Pols)

Apparently Marilyn is getting desperate.

Anyone else notice that it is paid for by both the NRCC and the Musgrave for Congress campaign?

  1. The best is the little girl with the single tear. I don’t want to downplay the fact that Marilyn had a rough childhood, but this is the most hilarious ad I’ve ever seen. Man is she ever getting desperate. You’d think she was going to blame Betsy Markey for her father’s alcoholism or something.

    1. it doesn’t mention she’s a Republican. In fact, to hear the ad, it sounds (and looks) more like she’s a Depression-era populist, working “with Democrats and Republicans” to fight that mean President Bush.

      1. how she manages to get any work done as a Congresswoman with all of the volunteer work she does for habitat for humanity and homeless shelters. She’s like Mother Theresa!

  2. The GOP is looking for the sympathy vote this year.

Poor Palin.  Poor Musgrave.  Poor McCain.

They have all had is tough so we should let them lead.

I am Karl Rove and I approve this message.

    Matt

    1. This fucking squishy boo hoo shit from the Republicans has got to stop. It’s pathetic ! Where the hell is the old pink lady we so loved to hate ? Baking cookies ?

      I’ve gotta go puke now.

    1. It’s about 6 years too late since virtually everyone in her district knows her but it would  have played well if she was new to the political scene.

      1. There is a lot of growth and movement in the Weld/Larimer/Boulder county heart of this district. I’d be surprised if half the voters could name their member of Congress.  And at a time when Obama has lured so many under 30s to political consciousness fopr the first time, MM is very smart to introduce herself to them in bipartisan colors. I am only surprised that she didn’t mention pinon canyon, but maybe that plays better down south.  Brewing is right, it’s a good ad, though I didn’t see markey’s and can’t compare the two.

        1. Get real. I can’t think of anyone, not even the most misinformed voter in the world that doesn’t know “tiny snowflake/gay marriage” Musgrave.

I agree the ad is good but it is 6 years too late. Sorry, but it is.

            1. I was up at my daughter’s house this past weekend configuring her network – a bunch of CSU sophmores who have zero interest in politics.

I mentioned that they should change their registration to Ft. Collins. When they asked me why I said so they could vote for Betsy Markey over Musgrave. They had no idea who Betsy was – but they all knew MM – and they all had very mean things to say about her.

On the flip side, none of them cared enough to make the effort to change their registration. In fact, most of them are only registered because their parent made them (including my daughter).

So I think it’s safe to say MM is well known.

            2. I’m just making my point very poorly.

Here’s what I’m trying to say–people may not know what congressional district they live in or who their representative is or who the hell is running but they know her. They know who she is and they know why they don’t like her.

They know her because, for better or worse, she’s managed to carve out a rather dubious niche for herself with her gay marriage stance.

            1. Years of national grandstanding and having pissed off billionaires throw lots of money at you tends to have that effect. People of the 4th know who Marilyn is. Only way an unknown like Betsy is competitive right out of the gate — they know Marilyn and their mind is made up about her.

  3. And it’s paid for by the National REPUBLICAN CC?

It’s gotten so bad for Bush that now the Republicans are paying for ads touting Republicans who oppose Bush? Wow.

    1. It comes across as she hates her father and is willing to attack him publically to get re-elected. I wonder if that will sell.

What is needed is some independent individuals up there to take umbrage at her beating up on her dad – writing letters to the paper, etc.
