UPDATE: Er, maybe not? As Mark Matthews reports for the Denver Post:
But in a follow-up email to Tipton’s office on Monday, spokesman Josh Green said the official word was a definite maybe. Or a maybe – definitely. (Note the word “currently” in the below statement)
Let it go, Tipton staffers. Let it go…

As Roll Call reports, Congressman Scott Tipton (R-Cortez) has finally closed a door that nobody ever thought was open in the first place:
Colorado 3rd District Rep. Scott Tipton, who had long said he wasn’t “closing doors on anything,” told Roll Call Friday afternoon that he will be running for re-election to his House seat rather than running for the Senate.
“You know, we’ve got a lot of issue we’re working on that are incredibly important for my part of the state and our state at large. And we’ve had some success, and that’s where we’re focused,” Tipton said.
Asked to clarify if he was still leaving the door open, Tipton said, “No, I’m running for the Third District.”
Tipton and his spokespeople had long refused to declare that a 2016 Senate bid was not in the cards, wisely leaving the door open to attract a modicum of media attention and speculation. We don’t know of anybody in Colorado who ever really expected that Tipton would run for Senate instead of re-election, but this nevertheless makes it official.

Too bad, I wanted the dipshit to run.
Fun fact: Safari autocorrect turns "dipshit" into "dispirit."
Don't despair. Like Bartles & Jaymes . . . [We'll] make more!
Fun fact: The GOP turns "dipshit" into "legislator."
Tipton is smart. Unseating Bennet is a real uphill battle, despite what Zappatero thinks about Bennet. The 3rd District is relatively safe for Tipton, so why give it up.
Right on, CHB. Tipton would be exposed if he ran for the Senate since he's unable to answer a question — any question — without reverting to a talking point.
Methinks the staff wants a raise.
Randy. Randy. There is an opening for a mustache…
