Let’s churn some Democratic gossip here. Is the impending nomination of Hillary Clinton filling Ken Salazar and John Hickenlooper with crazy dreams of Washington?
Former Senator Ken Salazar should be working now to close out the field for a 2018 race for governor, but his allies keep talking him up as Hillary’s pick for vice president. Salazar is moderate, Latino, and a proven winner in a purple state, but he’s older than the Castro brothers of Texas, and less connected today than Labor Secretary Tom Perez. Salazar also would be hurt by his role as Interior Secretary overseeing the notorious BP oil spill and cleanup in the Gulf of Mexico.
Governor John Hickenlooper has gone four months without appointing a lieutenant governor to replace Joe Garcia. Why the big delay? Many say it’s because Hickenlooper is counting on a Hillary Cabinet appointment (Commerce or Energy), which would mean Hick’s lieutenant governor would become the real governor. Hick has been delaying his lt. gov. appointment because he feels the extra weight of it.
Do Salazar and Hick have real shots at DC, or is Hillary fever running so hot that these local Dems are deluding themselves?

Hickenlooper as Energy Secretary. That'll get the frack juices flowing. Drink that Koch A Cola, everyone!
On loop de looper coming up:
6 ounces fracking fluid
Juice of one fresh squeezed lime
two ounces Schmirnoff Vodka
One jigger grenadine
Shake, pour over ice, add one Maraschino cherry
Not sure why Salazar would want to be HRC's VP, a position that seems to be pretty dead end these days, especially for a not so young guy who would be 8 years older when done if your Prez serves two terms, when he can be Governor. Hick, on the other hand, might like to move on to the cabinet as his next thing.
