Cadman on Prez Race: "Not Her, Him"

Senate President Bill Cadman (R).
Senate President Bill Cadman (R).

We haven’t seen any long-form reporting on Colorado Senate President Bill Cadman’s remarks yesterday at the El Paso County Republican Party assembly, but Ramsey Scott at the Colorado Statesman Tweeted a quote from Cadman that, assuming it holds up contextually, could make for one hell of a bumper sticker in the 2016 presidential race.

For Democrats, that is:

“Not her, him.” In addition to creating tacit space to back controversial GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump in the likely event he wins Cadman’s party’s nomination, this crude distillation of the party’s message down to “not your gender pronoun, our gender pronoun” is (this is a considerable understatement) very unlikely to turn around the Republican Party’s abysmal poll numbers among women voters. Numbers that were abysmal, mind you, long before Trump.

Wait, you say, Cadman didn’t mean all women. “Not her” only means not Hillary Clinton, right?

Let’s put it on a bumper sticker and see what women think.

    1. By El Paso County GOP standards, Cadman is actually one of the intellectual ones.

Let's face it…..stick him amongst Dr. Chaps, Doug Lamborn, Dave Schultheis, Doug Bruce, and Peggy Littleton and Cadman looks like Albert Einstein.

  1. Cadman meant the gender comment — aimed at Hillary Clinton presumably – and his sawed off shot gun sprayed all women. It doesn't matter, the GOP has already lost the presidential race. Sad day for Cadman and Republicans.

    1. Not everything mentioned in a political blog has to be a huge headline news flash. This is mentioned because it demonstrates a tone deafness similar to Buck's with similar potential to hurt the candidate among women voters. It is offered here as a potential matter of interest to those following the upcoming elections.

Like your puzzling conviction that it's somehow inappropriate to expect any response from you to questions about your candidate preferences or other political topics, your inability to "figure out" why something like this might pop up on a Colorado political blog demonstrates a certain cluelessness about what a political blog is.

Hint. It's not a headline news blog.  What is politically interesting to us runs the gamut from big headline national stories to inside baseball local stuff and everything in between. You know. Because it's a Colorado political blog.
