War, no. But Trump's BFF Putin should face crippling economic sanctions until he recognizes the sovereignty of Ukraine and withdraws his troops from that embattled nation.

I wonder if Trump/Putin apologist, Powerful Pear/Prune, has ever visited the Baltic States, Poland, and Ukraine? Probably not. I've been to all in the past two years, except Ukraine, and the people REALLY value no longer being under Russia's big thumb.

"Are you ready for that step?……." I think outgoing President Obama is covering "that step" already. Just because what the Rooskies have done is called an act of war doesn't automatically mean that we sending the planes, tanks, and ground forces to invade Russia.
Russia's energy companies Rosneft and Gazprom are pulling the strings here – from Trump's selection of Exxon CEO Tillerson as Secretary of State to Arctic drilling that can't happen without US sanctions being lifted, to the annexation of Crimea , to supporting Assad and pacifying Turkey, it's all about the supply and movement of Russian oil and gas.
It's only a matter of time before Putin, emboldened by the Trump Administration's support, moves on Ukraine again. Gazprom has too many gas supply lines to protect throughout the Ukraine

When / if that happens, It will be miserable for Ukrainians, Lithuanians, or Baltic states, but it will be ridiculously entertaining to watch Trump try to explain and defend his BFF's aggression.
I don't agree with McCain about much, but I do applaud his standing up to Russian corporate interests that advocated for the Trump presidency.
All of which makes a transition to renewable energy of strategic importance even if one discounts global warming entirely.
