Crowds Fail to Turn Out for Trump Inauguration

  • by: Colorado Pols

As PBS (and multiple other news outlets) are reporting, crowds for Donald Trump’s Presidential Inauguration today were…well, not Yuge:

There’s no conspiracy here. This is just what happens when the most unpopular President-elect in 40 years holds an Inauguration party. Sorry, Mr. President, but there will be no record attendance set today.

  1. As I'm sure The Donald will explain, he could have gotten way more than Obama got if he'd paid them to attend like Obama did!

    (oops!)

Donald Trump’s inauguration is only days away, but it appears that his team is getting desperate to live up to the the “unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout,” he promised in The New York Times. The president-elect now has targeted Facebook ads to help coax people to his party, Gothamist reports.

    1. He may be right.  I mean, it's worked for him before.

FEC Document Concludes Trump Paid Actors to Attend Event at Which He Launched 2016 Campaign

"In this matter, the available information indicates that the [Trump campaign] retained Gotham as an event consultant, and Gotham, in turn, subcontracted with Extra Mile to provide extra administrative support at Trump's announcement, including the provision of at least some of the rally crowd."

To be clear, Extra Mile is a "background talent" casting agency. It does not provide, like, secretarial services.

        1. Sunny skies too! Trump is so powerful he made the rain go away! devil

ACHole is really desperate to pretend Trump hasn't become a laughing stock and embarrassment to the Republican Party on DAY ONE.

Has he destroyed ISIS and stopped all crime like he promised?

I agree with Cory Gardner, Trump truly is a buffoon. Unfortunately, a dangerous buffoon.

  2. White House doubles down on Trump crowd claims, media complaints

Spicer blamed “floor coverings” used to protect the grass for highlighting areas that were empty, and blamed heightened security for limiting the amount of people on the Mall.

“Inaccurate numbers involving crowd size were also tweeted,” Spicer said. “No one had numbers. … By the way this applies to any attempts to try to count the number of protesters today in the same fashion.”

Spicer went on to say that “this was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period. Both in person and around the globe.” [Emphasis mine, insanity Spicer's]

I also found a photograph of Spicer at the presser…

  3. I was in D.C. for this inauguration and for Obama's inauguration.  The drumpf could not have gotten 200,000.  The Women's March was at least 500,000. A simple piece of information, on Friday non- of the DC Metro parking garages was full (a local gauge of attendance) and only 300,000 train rides taken.  On Saturday the parking garages were full and closed by 11am.  The train rides were at least double the con man's.
