Bob Beauprez Raises $403,700

Congressman Bob Beauprez announced today that he had raised $403,700 for his gubernatorial campaign. His campaign sent out a misleading release with the headline “Beauprez Raises $515,700” before later saying that $112,000 was raised to help retire some of his congressional campaign debt. The misleading headline wasn’t necessary anyway, because $403,700 is a very strong amount of money to report.

Said Beauprez in the press release:

“I’m extremely thankful for the outpouring of support from so many Coloradans and we’re going to keep working hard to earn support. We’re off to a great start and the momentum feels pretty good.”

While Beauprez had the full three months to raise money, his first report is more than the fundraising of Democrats Bill Ritter and Rutt Bridges combined. Republican Marc Holtzman is expected to announce similar numbers to Beauprez, but it will be interesting to see if the latter ends up with the overall lead for the Q2 reports.
