      1. Well, at least the designated hitter rule won a majority of votes in the (un)American League, which is more than Trump can say.   So, yes, Trump stinks worse.

  1. You can't fix stupid (and she's entrusted with educating first-graders in Tennessee).

    Bless her heart.

Trump supporter credits Trumpcare — which hasn’t taken effect — for dramatically lower health costs

Charla McComic’s son recently lost his job, and his health-insurance premium dropped from $567 per month to $88, which she described as “a blessing from God” and a gift from the new president, reported the Washington Post.

McComic, who attended Trump’s rally this week in Nashville with four family members, told the Post she’s not worried that her 33-year-old son or 3-year-old granddaughter will lose their Medicaid coverage under the GOP plan.

  2. For folks who voted for Amendment 71 expecting old rules for old initiatives, as mentioned at the time, you were only half right.  Enjoy a peek at the implementing law, or, for those of shorter attention span, the research note, which clearly indicates the "same as it ever was" rules only apply to the supermajority voting requirement.  So, as an example, a TABOR repeal will require only 50%+1 votes to succeed, after a petition is put on the ballot, which has been signed by 2% of the electors in each state senate district.  So, not quite the same.

Previously, initiative proponents were required to collect enough signatures to equal at least 5 percent of the total votes cast statewide in the most recent election for Secretary of State.  This signature requirement remains in effect for statutory initiatives.  Under Amendment 71, proponents of  constitutional  initiatives  must  collect  signatures  equal  to at  least  2  percent  of  the  registered voters  in  each  of  the  state's  35  senate  districts.    This  bill  provides  statutory  guidance  to  the Secretary of State to implement these requirements.

Under Amendment 71, the percentage of votes required for a constitutional amendment to be adopted is increased from 50 percent to 55 percent.  However, an initiative that only repeals existing constitutional language, in whole or in part, only requires a majority vote for adoption.  This bill empowers the Title Board to determine whether a proposed constitutional amendment repeals existing language…[emphasis mine]

  3. A week-starting quote for PP (Passionate Prune), Moderatus, Andrew……

"If you don't serve the devil, you can't be a good Democrat……."

    Gordon Klingenschmidt
