Where is South Carolina’s governor?

Gov. Mark Sanford’s wife said Monday she did not know the location of the two-term Republican chief executive. Sanford’s staff declined to disclose where he was.

First lady Jenny Sanford told The Associated Press her husband has been gone for several days and she doesn’t know where. She said she was not concerned. Jenny Sanford said the governor said he needed time away from their children to write something…

Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer said he didn’t know where Sanford is but said he had not been put in charge.

Please hold off on the “Vanishing” Dave Balmer jokes. After all, that was right next door in North Carolina and they’ve already heard them.

I’ve cranked out 18 possible songs (lyrics only) for Carrie Prejean’s debut album and sent them to him a month ago.

Rhino Records has threatened to go with a different team if we don’t send them something arrangeable by Wednesday.

He told me he was going to his lake house to get this done, where he has no cell coverage.

Don’t worry; he’s fine.

Sounds like a perfect time to do a Sen. Ensign. Not telling your wife or the Lt. Gov could only mean this is curtains for Sanford.

Sanford has become more well known through his resistance to the stimulus bill. He’s going to try to use this increased name rec to run for the GOP nomination in 2012. The real reason that he went AWOL was because he’s writing a book about his life and his political philosophy (hey, it worked for Obama right?) to parlay into a run for the White House.

The only snag: this thing has now ruined his chances of ever attaining that office. Whoops.
