With Bennet already having raised $2.2 million by 7/15/09, a Republican takedown is a long shot. I would guess that by East Coast standards this is not a lot of money, however it’s a healthy chunk here in the West, especially to a troubled Colorado Republican Party who would be hard-pressed to compete in 2010 advertising.
Politically, Bennet seems to be setting himself up to please those rather fickle Colorado Independents. That’s the Ritter tack, yet Ritter currently seems to be the more vulnerable of the two [witness Pols’ own Line], both politically and financially. Wadhams and Co. have probably picked well in determining where to place resources.

Everyone figured that Bennet would be easy to challange because he hasn’t run for office before. But he is doing a really good job of running for election. Not Betsy Markey perfect, but damn good.
