      1. The "soda jerk" is my concept of Moderatus, toasting the "harsh tonic" of Trumpism  with Anne Coulter. I had fun drawing this, and am glad y'all liked it. It was a great mental image – I had to try to put it on paper.

My dad had some Pat Oliphant cartoons, and I actually got to meet the great cartoonist at his drawing table in the Post pressroom. Being an editorial cartoonist was an early ambition of mine, along with being the first Miss America to win the talent competition with a jet-pack aerial routine.

          1. That's what Robotics Club is for. It's a really popular club around here.

While high school students might pay out their Hot Cheetos money to see me doing a jet pack routine, they would also all be taking video so that, when I inevitably flamed out and crashed, it would go viral on YouTube.

I guess we've come a way since my "nerdy girl" days.

  1. Our Bold and Brave Democrat, Senator-for-Life Michael Bennet, has made his tough choice about our economy and wants to give $80 Billion more dollars to the Pentagon and the most Irresponsible, War-mongering president in History.

This is the same Michael Bennet that claims he wants to make the tough fiscal decisions as a senator:

Michael believes we need to work together and start making the tough decisions necessary to put our nation's fiscal house in order. Putting the country on a sustainable, long-term fiscal path and bringing our debt under control is incredibly important to our economy and our standing in the world.

He's had that lying text on his official senate site since Day 1. Maybe next time on the tough decision. It will have to wait while the coward stiffens his back bone by voting with Republicans on most every key issue.

        1. It would be electoral malpractice for a white candidate not to select from among the many people of color who share compatible political views for their vice presidential running mate.

            1. if he's playing for Veep, why not get some of Biden's Boldness?

Maybe he's going for the Bland Middle-American role to Deval's and Kirsten's Bold Democrats?

You guys are hallucinating if you think he's VP material.

  2. Unicorns!  Ponies!

More Republicans Now Support Free College Than Oppose It, Poll Finds

A Morning Consult poll conducted in mid-September finds that a plurality of self-identified Republicans now agree with a “proposal to make four-year public colleges and universities tuition-free,” as the question is worded.

Forty-seven percent of Republican respondents say they strongly or somewhat support the proposal, while 45 percent say they strongly or somewhat oppose it. Seven percent say they don’t know or have no opinion.

Among self-identified tea party backers, support is also strong — with 50 percent saying they support the proposal while 49 percent oppose it.

Overall, 63 percent of Americans support the proposal, while 29 percent oppose it.

    1. I wouldn't call 50% of Tea Partiers supporting free college "strong" but I would call it "amazing" or "extraordinary."

Most of the Tea Partiers I know are against; hell some of them saw high school as a big waste and should not funded with their tax dollars.

    2. That's the good news.  Now for the bad news . . .

. . . unfortunately, it seems, 97% want to attend Liberty University or CCU and earn their degrees in creation science, science denial, or Laffer economics.

    3. Yep … seen as a pipe dream. Until you realize that when I went to University, I could have done a tuition free community college and a nearly-tuition free University degree in the "poor" state of New Mexico. Other states had similar, or even more generous, options available to those who were academically qualified.

  3. That "Making (Rural) America Great Again may take longer than we thought…

Another example: Christopher O’Hagan, an appointee as a confidential assistant at the Agricultural Marketing Service, which helps producers of food, fiber and specialty crop growers market their goods. O'Hagan graduated in 2016 from the University of Scranton with a major in history and a minor in economics. But his résumé lists only one example of work experience prior to joining the Trump campaign in January 2016 — employment as a cabana attendant at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York, while in school.
