Tancredo and Sirota Set to Debate Tonight at CCU

Colorado Christian University, no stranger to political debate, is tonight hosting a debate between former Congressman and Gubenatorial candidate Tom Tancredo and 760 AM drive-time radio host David Sirota.

From CCU:

Occupy Movement vs. the Tea Party

Location : CCU Beckman Center

Start Date : 1/30/2012  7:00 PM

End Date : 1/30/2012  9:00 PM

Election year 2012 pits not only the traditional party antagonists of Republicans vs. Democrats, but also two new and potent groups of political outsiders, the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street movement. Which of the latter groups represents America at its best? Invited to debate are Tom Tancredo, the conservative former congressman and gubernatorial candidate, versus David Sirota, the progressive author, columnist, and radio host. Join us on Monday, January 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the CCU Beckman Center.

Admission is free but reservations are required. RSVP your name and number of attendees to Centennial@ccu.edu or call 303-963-3424. The Beckman Center is located near the Garrison Street entrance to the Colorado Christian University main campus in Lakewood.

We’re not exactly sure that David Sirota is the best mouthpiece for the Occupy Movement (or that Tancredo accurately represents the Tea Party) but it should be a spirited debate tonight nonetheless.

If you thought the messaging troubles for the Republicans couldn’t get any worse…you were wrong. Will Tonight’s Debate Make Romney? Or Break Him?

Our friends at the Washington Post report, a lot riding on tonight’s GOP presidential debate in New Hampshire–at the top of that list, the true disposition of “frontrunner” Mitt Romney: His moment is here again, in the state where last time the dream unraveled. Monday night, on a stage in Manchester, Mitt Romney will compete […]

Pueblo Nuclear Power Debate Rages On

The Pueblo Chieftain’s Peter Roper updates on the most unfortunately-timed hearings in recent memory, over a proposal to construct a nuclear power plant outside Pueblo–where, proponents strain to point out, there is a very low risk of earthquakes, and even lower risk of tsunamis. They came to stop it Wednesday night – at least 500 […]

Final U.S. Senate Debate Open Thread

Airing tonight at 6PM on Denver’s KCNC CBS 4. To start off our discussion this evening, here’s an amusing mashup of a number of GOP candidate Ken Buck’s more memorable statements–we were anonymously forwarded just ahead of gametime: Yes, it’s not really meant to be flattering, but we think it’s instructive to post this 40 […]
