Any questions for Ken Buck

Hi all;

I’m interviewing Ken Buck this Thursday morning. Any suggested questions for him?

  1. … with the Northern Colorado Conservative Alliance?

In fall 2007, Buck sent a letter to a wide swath of Weld Co. residents railing on illegal immigration (he then held a forum that even the Denver Post found disturbing).  The letter was signed Ken Buck, Weld County DA, but was sent by NCCA.  Details at SquareState.net.

NCCA does not exist as a 527 or a 501c4.  Yet they raised money, send electioneering material, and hold fundraisers for candidates.

Who are they?  Where does their money come from, and are they required to disclose anything?

Was it legal for Ken Buck to direct people to his DA Campaign website, but not report it as either in-kind or other donation?

    Anyway.  Just a thought.

  2. your landmark prosecution of the Hate Crime murder of a transgendered woman, do you support full legal rights for gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgendered Americans?  Or do you support discrimination against us just not our murder?

  3. The IRS takes an extremely dim view of tax return confidentiality being broken. How will you square it with the GOP base that you raided a tax preparer’s office and seized tax returns of individuals who had nothing to do with your investigation of illegal aliens?

      1. He’s never really run a competitive race ever in a general election–he’s always run unopposed for Weld Co. District Attorney.

I guess with the open seat, he’s thinking now or never.

  4. What legislative experience does he have that qualifies him to be a US Senator?

What does he see as the correct US military goal in Iraq? Afghanistan Does he support continued occupaiton in either/both?

What health care/insurance reform if any would he support?

Does he support the President’s pan for a missile shield?

Does he accept that President Obama was born in Hawaii and is a legal citizen of the US?

What are the biggest obstacles to prosecuting crime that could be addressed from the US Senate?

How would he fix the federal estate tax?

What would he advocate the US do about a potentially nuclear Iran? Korea?  Nuclear proliferation in general?

Does he support allowing the states to mandate stricter clean air standards than the EPA?  Does he support extending the protections of the clean water act to fraccing fluid disclosure?

What does he believe is the appropriate role of the Senate when it comes to approving federal judges? SCOTUS Justices?

What does he believe it would take for the Republican party to return to a majority in the Senate? House? State Leg?
