Worst Week in Colorado

  • by: Colorado Pols

Our friends over at “The Fix” have been regularly running a weekly feature that asks for nominees for “The Worst Week in Washington.” We thought this was a good idea, so we thought it would be fun to start our own version that is Colorado-focused.

So…who is your nominee for the “Worst Week in Colorado?” Anything that happened between last Friday and today counts (so as bad as things have been for Scott McInnis lately, last week might not have been worse than the week before).

Our nominee is Republican Party Chair Dick Wadhams, who not only had to deal with the official announcement that Tom Tancredo is running for governor under the American Constitution Party banner, but is also now the target of a recall effort from a website that popped up this week titled “Dump Dick Wadhams.”

    1. Tom Tancredo will stay in the race unless McPlagiarist drops out and the GOP vacancy committee appoints a viable candidate that Tom can support. (Not Benson, Norton, Penry…)

So McPlagiarist knows he’ll never be governor.

Colorado Freedom Forum publishes killer ad that might finally get through to McPlagiarist and his sugar daddies.

Dick Wadhams considers McInnis untrustworthy. Both Tancredo and Peter Boyles confirm that Wadhams told them that he detests McInnis. Wadhams is a smart guy. He predicted long ago that McInnis wouldn’t beat Hick in a personality contest. What an under statement.

Conservative bloggers sign on to undervoting the GOP gubernatorial primary. If enough people undervote, they will send easy to interpret messages to the GOP and McInnis. It’s not just the liberal Denver Post that’s after McInnis. Every Republican who understands the importance of integrity and the McInnis Syndrome agrees that he must quit.

Republicans who don’t agree with the misguided state GOP central committee begin to rebel against its wrong headed self preservation campaign.

The media, Tancredo, bloggers and posters on Colorado Pols, FaceBook and Twitter are not letting the story die. It’s getting hotter in that McInnis kitchen every day.

  1. They learned that Romanoff sold his home to the “King of Flips” at a fire sale price that was 14% below market price to generate quick cash.  Their market price just dropped because of this sale.  I wonder how he’s polling in his neighborhood today.

    1. If the yard signs are any indication.  I did actually see one for Mike Fallon MD, DeGette’s latest hopeless opponent.

Andrew’s house/lot will be resold for ~$450K shortly, to be scraped just like the one next door.  That one went for $500K, and the construction noise is already waking us up at 7AM, so it’s just going to extend the time frame.

        1. http://www.denvergov.org/tabid

New house is @ 895 S. Gilpin, Andrew is 887.

Same size lot, but on the corner with the concrete pad from the old house’s garage to be used for the new one, so slightly more valuable.

To answer your question, you don’t.  You build a $1.5M house.  12 foot ceiling basement, and lots of finish quality (Larsen does nicer work than Chalet IMHO)

  2. 1. “Gubinatorial” – in the first official press release of the Tancredo campaign? Stupid.

    2. Getting the date of the campaign announcement wrong in that same press release. Even more stupid.

    3. Allowing Tom to wear a ridiculous-looking U.S. Border Patrol gimme cap at his announcement. Way to underscore that your candidate is nothing more than just a one-issue flash in the pan.

    4. Allowing Tom to wear a wrinkled-up guyabera shirt at the announcement. What next: re-introducing the “!Viva Tancredo!” yard signs?

    5. Failing to negotiate away some of the more offensive, insular American Constitution Party positions in its platform before making Tom the ACP candidate.

    6. Coming up with the lamest-looking web banner ever. What’s up with the dueling glass beer mugs?

    7. Failing to register all Tancredo-related web names. (Case in point: http://www.governortancredo.bl

    8. Allowing Tancredo to get on the air with Dick Wadhams calling each other liars. Unseemly.

    9. Agreeing to be Tancredo’s campaign manager in the first place. The only worse campaign manager to be would be Scott McInnis’.

  3. As he bears ultimate responsibility for the entire 2010 cast of bozo candidates and that radio screaming match with Tank was the cherry on top. He’s used up his capital as a “brilliant” operative and lost any claim to be taken seriously period.
