Barry Arrington – state board of education wannabe and Intelligent Design promoter – was responsible for a nifty little gaffe on behalf of Michele Bachmann recently:
http://dumpbachmann.blogspot.c…
Arrington is the treasurer of MichelePAC, but in filing the papers with the FEC spelled it MichellePAC. Oops.
It’s been widely reported that Arrington misspelled her name on the FEC filings; the domain name was also misspelled.
For those of us with long memories, Arrington was a familiar name back in the early 90s; he ran against Ed Perlmutter for the Colorado Senate in 1994 but the race got ugly quickly; Arrington’s supporters yelled “Perl-murderer” at Perlmutter and his kids in a Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival parade, as I recall.
To bring it all back to the modern day: the partial-birth abortion bill that got Tambor Williams into trouble recently was sponsored in 1997 by none other than Arrington.
He dropped out of the SBE race for CD 6 in early June; I don’t know how he did at the CD6 assembly but the timing tells me he perhaps did not make threshold.
