Liberal hack group Progress Now Colorado thought they had a live one on so-called "Equal Pay Day."
As women across America observed Equal Pay Day, commemorating the extra days a woman must work in order to match the annual income of men, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest online progressive advocacy organization, condemned votes by Reps. Cory Gardner and Mike Coffman against equal pay for women in the workplace.
“Equal Pay Day falls in April, because that’s how much longer it would take working women to make as much as men in a year,” said ProgressNow Colorado executive director Amy Runyon-Harms. “Unfortunately, Cory Gardner and Mike Coffman both voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act in 2013–popular, common sense legislation to help level the playing field for women in the workplace.”
But as it turns out, the joke's on Democrats. Colorado Peak Politics:
In the Republican Rep. Cory Gardner versus liberal Udall match up, when we look at Gardner’s most recently reported salaries for non-shared workers who were with him for the entire pay period, we see female staffers who work with Gardner earn an average of $1.04 to every dollar that a Gardner male staffer makes. That’s nearly 25% more than Udall pays his female staffers compared to his male staffers. The absurdity of a man who “fights” for equal pay, but can’t pay his own female staffers a fair wage is off the charts.
Even more impressive are the numbers that come from Republican Rep. Mike Coffman, who is in the closest House race across the nation. When we here at the Peak crunched his female staff salaries, they are making an incredible $1.12 for every one dollar Coffman male staffers are making. Perhaps if Udall and his fellow Democrats focused on treating their own employees equally first, then we wouldn’t have to legislate a solution. It shouldn’t be that hard, as two of Colorado’s top Republicans show how easy it is to do.
Who stands up for women making what they deserve? REPUBLICANS, that's who!
Who hypocritically attacks others while shortchanging their own women employees?
DEMOCRATS, THAT'S WHO! I call on Democrats to end the war on women's pocketbooks.

Memo to Flatulous Maximus, Koch Bros. Sock Puppet 4318 From the Smoking Guy.
Good job, Flatulous!
You're worth every dime — well, almost every dime — of that outageously high minimum wage this Socialistic government forces us at The Koch Brothers Foundation to Distract Attention from the Voting Record of our Toadies pays you.
As a special sign of our favor, we're not going to give your mother that 25 cent raise she asked for just because she has now worked at our chicken processing plant for 40 years — sorry, but once you start down that road, there's no end to it. But we're not going to fire her for having the temerity to ask.
You're a good man, Flatulous. May Your Tribe Increase.

I think this is an argument that can get Gardner & Coffman some traction.
I wouldn't get to giddy about that just yet, David… the GOP has a reputation for playing with numbers to suit their message, and conveniently forgetting critical pieces of data that would undermine their message. My hunch (and, to be frank, my hope) is that these right-wing sources have left some info out, just like when they tried this bit on the White House salaries. But, we'll see….
Moderatus…the Progress Now Colorado claim was about Gardner and Coffman's voting records…they voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act. That is a matter of public record.
If they individually chose to compensate female staffers well, bully for them…but it doesn't erase their voting records. Gardner, 2006 – voted against the Employment nondiscrimination expansion act in Colorado. Plus, Gardner had a whole box carof anti-woman baggage votes from his time in the Colorado statehouse – from letting sexually violent offenders walk free, to redefining rape as forcible rape, preventing workplace discrimination against nursing mothers, and on and on..
In the US Congress, in Cory Gardner has been a reliable vote against anything having to do with labor, organizing, or unions – he voted against allowing the NLRB to even convene, while blocking nominees to the NLRB, which would be required to implement any pay equity for women or minimum wage laws.
He's also reliable for an anti-gay vote, even extending this to heterosexual common-law couples who want civil union protections. And he doesn't want anyone to be able to get unpaid leave to attend a parent -teacher conference.
,As far as the Paycheck fairness act in the US House, along with anything else from the Senate, the GOP blocks or sends to committee any such bill. So it's pretty hard to find Cautious Cory or Mealy mouth – Mike Coffman on the record on anything real and current about pay equity or paycheck fairness. It simply never comes up for a vote.
Congrats on your first diary.
Found some more on the Freedomworks site. Freedomworks is the Koch brothers spinoff – Americans for Prosperity went the big-media big-ad-buy issue route, and Freedomworks went the rate-your-congresscritter route.
So Mike Coffman is rated 95% by Freedomworks for 2009, which was the last time the House actually voted on the Paycheck Fairness Act or the Lily Ledbetter Equal Pay Act. Coffman, of course, voted no on both.
Freedomworks only collected data for Cory Gardner since 2011, as this was when he was voted into Federal office. They only gave him a top 85% rating for the years 2011-2013, even though he voted to repeal Obamacare every time it came up.
Mod,
You beat me to it. Nice diary.
The hypocracy and dishonesty of the left on this issue is remarkable.
It reminds me of my favorite quote on my nom de guere, Andrew Carnegie:
Regarding your quote of the real Andrew Carnegie. It just might be a good idea for you to cast a glance at a mirror once in awhile.
Andrew Carnegie's legacy speaks to the Koch Brothers:
"To die rich is to die in disgrace."
V, I think Carnegie said somtheing like you should spend the 1st 1/3 of your life learning as much as possible, the second third making as much money as possible and the third third, giving it away.
The Kock brothers may still be in stage two. We live longer these days.
