  1. According to them, it's the CEO's who made America what it is:

Boeing Falls Most in Dow as Tanker Cost Stirs Concern

By Julie Johnsson  Jul 23, 2014

While Boeing’s policy is for executives to retire at age 65, McNerney said he will be staying on the job and “continuing to build a succession plan.”

McNerney responded with a quip when asked about his plans after turning 65 next month. “The heart will still be beating, the employees will still be cowering, I’ll be working hard,” he said. “There’s no end in sight.”

There's a certain sociopathy in this guy, and many other "Titans" of business. It reflects poorly on unfettered capitalism as a way of life. They are worshiped on Wall Street, even as they trash the value and legacy of an iconic corporation, but they are tearing up Main Street, one quarter at a time.

  2. Rand Paul hangs out with Alex Baldwin in the Hamptons.

    From wiki:

The Hamptons are a group of villages and hamlets in the towns of Southampton and East Hampton, which form the South Fork of Long IslandNew York. The Hamptons form a popular seaside resort, one of the historical summer colonies of the American Northeast. They have some of the most expensive residential properties in the U.S.

You can bet little ol' Rand can't afford to live there on his paltry salary as a U.S. Senator.

  3. Colorado Farm & Food Alliance

Summertime in Colorado.  Farmers' markets, festivals, evenings with a Colorado wine or craft beer.  Rain reminds us of the dryness of the land.  Water, it better be clean and remain plentiful if we like that beer and wine.

And our land, soil that generations of farmers, in many cases, have worked to build.  Vistas with high mountain hayfields, hops fields, vineyards.  Orchards.

World-class ingredients make the best food, wines and beer.  Sometimes oil and gas drilling is an industrial activity that does not fit, or–at a minimum–an activity that requires especially careful restrictions and rules.

As a community and nation we have to have this discussion–and if Coloradans care about their food and drink, they need to care about oil and gas development as well.

  4. Truth test Brandon Rittiman’s “truth test” of political ads- not so good journalism. I question his latest characterization of opposition ads to  Koch Bros involvement as “Leftist”  prove it Brandi, and while you are at it name the (more than one billionaires) of this “left” running ads in Colorado. Dismisses Koch involvement as “dark money” therefore can’t be linked. He is coddling Cory, (a M crush?)  Someone should examine all of Brandi’s truth tests for blatant bias. (no video bandwidth here) I can hear it. He IMO, is a toady shill for the Rs. 9 news wants to hear from you

  5. Horrifying repression of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, where the 18 year old Michael Brown was murdered. Reporters  arrested while reporting, peaceful protesters getting teargassed protesting. Chris Hayes and most other MSNBC shows are about this tonight.

No word from the Oathkeepers, militia,  or Constitutional Sheriffs about how horrified they are to see police repressing African-American citizens. They seem to be OK with that. It is, after all, what the Posse Comitatus doctrine was set up to do.

    1. Most of the Missouri Sheriffs, including Missouri Sheriff's Association Oberkorm, are listed as Constitutional Sheriffs on the CSPOA site. What this means: they are against Federal interference with County Sheriffs. They are prepared for a riot, and they are actually provoking a race riot. They are firing stun grenades and flash grenades on unarmed civilians. The streets are full of tear gas now.  There has been some looting and small, contained rioting, but none today. This is like the fucking Arab Spring.

Check out O'Donnel's the Last Word, on MSNBC.

The National Guard needs to be sent in to Ferguson, now. And they need to disclose the name of the officer who shot young Michael Brown.

      Video from KARG reporter.

The comments below this video are disgusting.

      1. I know my favorite stalker / self appointed fact checker will be on my "Most Missouri Sheriffs" statement – so pre-emptively correcting that statement. most Missouri Sheriffs are NOT Constitutional Sheriffs. Only 1/4 of them (27/ 108) are listed on the CSPOA website. John Belmar, the Chief of Police in St Louis County that includes Ferguson, is not listed as a Constitutional Sheriff.

Still, I think having 1/4 of the Sheriffs in a state expressing the belief that their authority is greater than that of the Federal government is a problem that has contributed to this complete breakdown of the police/community relationship in Ferguson.
