Our hats are off to the Grand Junction Sentinel's Charles Ashby, who kicks off today's story about GOP gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez's visit to Grand Junction yesterday with an inside joke for all of us in the political chattering class:
Gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez is glad the two anti-fracking ballot measures won’t be placed before voters this fall.
But then again, he isn’t. [Pols emphasis]
The rest of the story is worth reading, and we promise to do so right after we stop laughing. Well played, Mr. Ashby.

I read the article and it is very clear what Both Ways Bob is saying here:
He is very relieved the two 'anti-fracking' measures are not on the ballot, that would be very bad; and he is extremely disappointed that Hickelooper did not keep the measures on the ballot, which was too bad.
You can't make this stuff up. It's like he's the title character in a sitcom about a hapless, dim witted pol.
Uhhh, BC…I think he IS the title character in a sitcom about a hapless, dim witted…party
A reality sitcom? Of course!
I am a reader of various blogs, but this item really caught my eye.

I really can't believe anyone would actually call BWB a "strong candidate"!
I copied directly from site of Huff Po Denver–and it doesn't work for me either.
Go to Huff Po Denver page/ 2/3rds the way down center colunm,
Harley, I saw the same Huffpo article. The original article was "Colorado Governor Fights to Stave Off Republican Challenger", by Daniel Wallis and Keith Coffman for Reuters.
They call Beauprez a "strong establishment Republican candidate", which I disputed here and on Huffpo.

Chickenlooper tried to be a moderate but the Dems in the legislature kept yanking him back to the left. Because Hickenlooper has no spine, he allowed this to happen. He deserves what he gets, which will probably be defeat in November.
This is the second funniest post I've seen on Pols this morning (the Koch song was funnier) but still pretty good, Moddy.
Nothing more definitive than saying Hick will probably be defeated. Thats a bold statement Moddy !
I at least give him minor credit for using the qualifier "probably," rather than his usual "all Dems are doomed — period" faux certainty!
I suppose, like many other things in life, it’s all relative: i.e. compared to the other Republican choices, Beauprez was a strong candidate.
Or the least worst choice in a truly awful field! Par for course in the Republican Party these days.
At the risk of agreeing w/ Moderanus, I still think Honey Badger would have been the best of the four. At least he had managed to run and win a statewide race when the top of the ticket (Dan Maes….remember him) was only getting about 9 1/2 %.
Scott Gessler has the best of what? Electability? Entertainment Value?
Behave. Calling BWB the Colorado Rockies of gubernatorial politics is hitting way below the belt . . .
