Republicans voting for Democrats in Jeffco? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/20/colorado-school-board_n_6015818.html?utm_hp_ref=politics
The comments section linked to the article is quite lively and interesting.
Heh. Just watched the unintentionally hilarious trailer to Michelle Malkin’s “Rocky Mountain Heist” (advertised on this very site!). Although I am quite certain this wasn’t her goal, oddly enough it gave me hope for the future. Thanks, Michelle!
Smoking, did you see Udall's PSA? Here is the story.
Mark Udall cuts Public Service Announcement
Mark Udall recently cut a public service announcement about the dangers of young people smoking marijuana.* It is scheduled to be aired during the broadcast of CU athletic events. As an exclusive to Colorado Pols we were able to obtain a transcript of the announcement.
Hi(gh) this is Mark Udall.
I have worked hard to support the legalization of the possession of Marijuana in Colorado. It is now legal. One of the reasons I worked to support this law is not everyone that smokes dope has a father that is a politician that can get their kid out of a jam. Political dynasties are not for everyone. So now everyone gets a get out of jail free card for possession, not just me.
But smoking dope can cause reduced mental capacity and increase forgetfulness, so you really need to keep the amount of dope you smoke to a minimum. Back in the day, I used to ride around with three ounces just for my personal use. You really shouldn’t be doing that.
So let me tell you how smoking dope in your 20’s can affect you when you are a senior citizen like I am. You forget stuff. I was interviewed this week and was asked to name the three most influential books in my life. Here is the best I could do in an interview with Marc Stewart on Channel 7:
“Oh wow, uh. . . the three most influential books in my life. . . Profiles in Courage, um, the, uh . . . let me think. We can play this over, right? I mean re-tape this, um.”
Doing dope is really not good for you. Do you see what it did to my mind? I used to remember things. I used to remember how to answer a question. I was asked another question that I used to be able to answer:
“Is Common Core good or bad for Colorado students?”
I answered “yes”. http://www.newsaddicted.com/2014/10/19/reporter-common-core-good-or-bad-udall-yes/ What the hell was I thinking? I should have been able to say “yes” or “no”.
I told you doing a lot of dope in your 20’s is not a good thing.
(* this is a parody. Mark Udall did not really cut a PSA. He could have, but he didn’t.)
Every bit as ham-handed, not nearly as funny as Ms. Malkin. Perhaps you need a video camera?
Obamacare is here to stay http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/20/gop-obamacare_n_6016458.html?utm_hp_ref=politics
Did Masterbatus sleep through his alarm this morning?
The stupid party http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/20/mccain-troops-iraq-syira_n_5986756.html?utm_hp_ref=politics&ir=Politics
The Democratic ground game http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/20/mark-udall-cory-gardner_n_6016920.html?utm_hp_ref=politics Some of my favorite parts: Colorado has symbolized the Democrats' Obama-era electoral edge — a coalition of Hispanics, white college-educated single women and younger voters, coupled with the party's get-out-the-vote machine. That combination has helped Democrats win every top-of-the-ticket race in Colorado for the past decade, despite an electorate that is evenly divided between Republicans, Democrats and voters not affiliated with either party. And "Cory is such a talented, dynamic guy that, if we can't win with him, when are we going to win?" said Dick Wadhams, a GOP consultant and former state party chair who is predicting a Gardner victory.
And as far as polls are concerned :: Bennet didn't lead in a single public poll in 2010. Udall's campaign is modeled on Bennet's — but with a get-out-the-vote operation three times larger. The incumbent may also benefit from Colorado's new elections law, passed last year by its Democratic-controlled legislature over Republican objections, that sends mail-in ballots to all voters and allows citizens to register until Election Day.
That election law was a terrible idea. Mail ballots for everyone? More time to register to vote? It was just a shady, back room Democrat deal to make sure everyone gets a chance to vote and it's un-American. Period.
Gardner 46 – Udall 43 per PPP (Dem pollster)
Gardner expands lead from September where PPP had him up 2 (47-45)
http://blogs.denverpost.com/thespot/2014/10/21/democratic-poll-shows-udall-behind-senate-race/114273/
But everything is OK, because the Dem turnout machine will surely bring home the bacon. How is that working?
Jefferson and Arapahoe early voting: R+12.
Your reference to the early mail-in voting in Arapahoe and Jefferson counties is absurd. At the moment, the +12 figure is meaningless. If you've followed mail-in voting over the last several election cycles, then you know Republicans always vote by mail in larger numbers than Democrats do at the beginning of the mail-in cycle. Right now, no one has any idea how this will turn out, especially since the Democratic ground game is only now going into action.
Plus didn't he post an R+15 figure yesterday? Reverse momentum?
These meaningless posts are designed to scare us little weeny liberals into giving up. It is posturing..nothing more. This election will not be foretold by the polls, as we have come to see over the last few election cycles.
The cretin who posts them is cut from the same piece of cloth as James O'Keefe, Tom Alciere, Fred Phelps, Karl Rove and, indeeed, the majority of Republican operatives. They do not know the meaning of compassion…or honesty…nor do they have any sort of moral compass. They are universally sworn to the principle of "the end justifies the means"…no activity is too low for them if they think it will increase their chances of winning.
The evidence of this is everywhere…..
As usual, your post is precise and to the point in reference to right wing scum. Is it really stupid enough to believe the garbage that it posts?
R-36, Just reporting the facts. You may not like the facts. You may want to spin the facts. But these are the facts:
Jefferson county: 13,829 returned ballots; 5,961 Republican; 4,352 Democrat
Arapahoe county: 10,884 returned ballots; 4,877 Republican; 3,521 Democrat
You left out the unaffiliated voters, asshole. Keep posting meaningless numbers as long as you want to continue making a fool of yourself…because you sure as hell aren't fooling anyone else.
My thoughts exactly, Duke. I think the unaffiliated voters make up the largest part of the electorate in Colorado. I'm sure he is purposely leaving them out.
Debbie, as usual, you would be wrong. While unaffiliated voters lead in registration, they don't vote much in mid term elections. So far they account for 22% of the returned ballots.
Wrong again. The unaffiliated will be voting D, and strong D.
There is no reason EVER again to vote for a R.
A problem that Asshat Carnie fails to note is that the pool of voters is no longer fixed in size. With same day registration, Udall's folks can work to register new voters to help offset any early "lead" in returned ballots. Of course, Rs have returned more ballots, earlier in other elections they've lost too.
I'd be interested to see some recent registration stats.
O.K., while the Republicans returned a few more ballots than the Democrats in those two counties—the question remains: FOR WHOM DID THEY VOTE FOR?
Gardner. Is this a trick question?
Republicans won early voting in Colorado in 2012 and claimed Obama was going to lose Colorado. They were 100% dead wrong. They lost Colorado by 5 points. 😉
He's probably well aware of that.
That is assuming registered Republicans are voting for Republicans. There are at least two registered Rs that are voting Democrat all the way!
My point is very simple. When the first totals are announced for mail-in ballots, more registered Republicans return their ballots than do registered Democrats. It has happened every election cycle since Colorado instituted mail-in ballots. The same thing has happened again this year. I certainly don't doubt your numbers but any assertion these imply how the election will turn out is absurd.
Yeah, right — try telling that to Senator Buck and President Romney!
Do you have a point. You right wingers won the early voting in Colorado in 2012 AND YOU STILL LOST THE STATE BY 5 POINTS. Are you retarded?
In the words of our WIF, "is that a trick question?"
Maybe Andrew Carnegie believes that through his use of bold lettering and a large font, Democrats on Colorado Pols will find the polling numbers too hopeless and too depressing to even submit their mail-in ballots, and that he will help determine the outcome of the general election that way.
I've asked the worthless pant load and his even-less-intelligent puppy dog pal precisely what it is they're doing here every day, since they know how hated and utterly non-influential they are.
Since neither pinhead ever answered, tha truth becomes self-evident: They come here solely to troll, to bait, to harass, to antagonize, and essentially to piss in our punchbowl, for no other reason that to behave like a pair of frat-boy juvenile pricks.
They are the embodiment of the term INTERNET TROLL, and for that reason, they should be banned.
Oh, I just thought they were here to provide comic relief.
Afterall, they are simply clowns… When I scroll past their posts, I imagine hearing their bulbous red noses honking 😉
Send in the clowns, there ought to be clowns…….
Judging by certain posters, they are already here.
The dem machine brought home the bacon in 2008, 2010, and 2012. 2014 will be no different. You kochsuckers will go down in defeat. 😉
Is that a trick question?
Hey wingnut AG, the democrat's ground game gave your worthless POS party devastating losses in 2008, 2010, and 2012. You must remember that right?
Tom Alciere knows where you live!
Who is Tom Alciere? He's a former New Hampshire lawmaker and libertarian nutbag who advocates killing cops. His hobby seems to be purchasing voter registration information from states, then creating sites with the information that make names easily searchable because liberty! The Colorado site is coloradovoters.info.
Just for fun i searched for the current Colorado prison chief and found his possible address. Scary how easy it is to do considering our last prison chief was murdered in front of his house.
Is there anything that can be done about this nutbag and his sites? It makes me wonder even more about conservatives motivations behind voter ID laws.
This is actually a reply to Republican 36, but I refuse to continue any thread started by either of our resident dog turds.
My opinion, not original, is that Republican early voters add little or nothing to the eventual total because they are primarily people who would vote anyway. Not necessarily true of Democrats, who tend to slack off in non-presidential elections, but will hopefully be picked up in the ground game..
Exactly. Republican demos tend to vote earlier. It's a constant. If Rs didn't know that Dem demos tend to procrastinate they wouldn't be so determined to fight things like same day registration and universal mail in ballots. They only use fear of fraud as an excuse. They know how rare that is. What they fear is more of "those" people, the young, minorities and busy working single moms, participating. And they will this election here in Colorado.
BC, Nice try.
In off year elections Dems don't procrastinate, they don't vote. When the President is very unpopular and if your candidate runs a terrible race, like Udall, they lose.
Acceptance appears to be difficult for some.
Ignore the polls, ignore what you see and hear, everything is just dandy, for a couple more weeks.
North Carolina slipping away?
Daily Kos now has Hagan with a 55% chance.
Oh, Pols. I'm not having the stale page cache problem any more *knocks wood*.
Me, neither. Knock wood twice.
Is Udall running out of money?
What else could go wrong? Udall has outspent Gardner by millions to be down by 3-4 points. So how is his fundraising going? This from Colorado Peak Politics:
In case you missed the cheer across the state, Cory Gardner has once again outraised Mark Udall in the final stretch of the campaign. Gardner reported raising $1.28 million on Monday for the period of October 1-15, with $1.87 million cash on hand. If Udall has seemed so sad lately, it’s because his haul was significantly less. Udall raised $735,000 and has just $536,000 cash on hand (sad trombone). – See more at: http://coloradopeakpolitics.com/#sthash.O17I51iM.dpuf
Why would you end your campaign with extra money you didn't spend?
Because Republican politicos consider campaign cash to be personal income…it is called the "Steve King principle".
Let's don't forget Scott McInnis.
…or forget that Udall invested his money wisely long ago by buying up airtime for the final stretch long-ago when it was cheap. The Repukes just can't wrap their arms around the idea of wise and timely investments; they have built a culture of dependency on Turd Blossom, Sheldon and the Koch crowd – knowing they can whine a little bit and get whatever they need, whenever they need it.
Udall's ad time will be smothering Gardner the last 10 days, as will the ground game.
Because you have not prepaid all the bills and you need to set aside funds to pay them as they come in. You would not want to pull a Romanoff.
The ads are paid for achole – the republicans have to spend more now to buy the time – you really are dense.
So if my calculations are correct, you're telling me you can spend money on something now…and then get it later? Are you sure this isn't some liberal trickery?
Well, obviously it is . . .
gardner needs it for his expensive healthcare policy.
And posting link to a right-wing rag confirms your lies. Udall will win this out, and he has other PAC helping out, like your Koch-affiliated PAC's failing to help any of your R's.
and then there is this for anyone wondering what Cory Gardners' old buddy Josh Penry has been up to….

I can't believe our little watermelon sniper hasn't gotten his wife in on one of these gigs. The three amigo's could have turned this in to a Koch trifecta.
From the Department of No Surprises:
The generally accepted prescription for the GOP's irrational panic-mongering is to "stuff a sock in it"
The gop has opinions on Ebola and women's health care, but, yes, oh gee…climate opinions are not to be found because they are not actually scientists. They all seem to be physicians, though, or virologists … definitely virologists. Ah huh.
Not all are virologists. Some Republican politicians are amateur gynecologists (Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock).
Boehner can't get it on his own, so he has to pay for it…
God bless the market! Money can't buy him love but for the right price, he can rent some enthusiasm.
What do they call those people who rent their affection?…oh, yeah…now I remember….
Moderatus?
I had a different word in mind…but it means the same thing….
ACHole is a perfect definition.
Boehner could take lessons from the old Socialist Worker's Party…Before "photoshop" existed, they used to cut and paste photos of the same ten people several times to simulate a large crowd in their propaganda photos.
You're welcome, Mr. Boehner. I'm sure that the SWP will be happy to have helped you.
