UPDATE: In response to my question of whether he thinks there’s any difference between the Planned Parenthood domestic terrorist and Planned Parenthood executives, Klingenschmitt said via email, “I’ve been consistent in my statements calling for an end to ALL of the violence, not just half of the violence as the pro-abortionists do. They remain inconsistent in their calls to end some violence, while they engage in violent behavior against children behind closed doors.”

“Listen, the shooter was filled with the demonic spirit of murder,” said State Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt, a Republican, told Colorado Springs radio station KLZ 560-AM four days after the shooting (at 6:20 below). “And yet, the Planned Parenthood executives who call for not just the murder but the profiting from selling aborted baby parts, as we’ve seen from their own lips on the videos of the Center for Medical Progress over the summer, they have that same demonic spirit of murder.”
“Absolutely. Abolutely,” responded KLZ host Steve Curtis, who’s a former chair of the Colorado Republican Party.
Klingenschmitt did not immediately return an email seeking to know if he sees any difference between Planned Parenthood executives and the domestic terrorist.
Other anti-choice leaders have responded to the tragedy by objecting to the abortions at Planned Parenthood as well as the murders committed by the terrorist, but Klingenschmitt went further Dec. 1 by equating Planned Parenthood officials to the terrorist.
Klingenschmitt was one of three Republicans, along with Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Aurora) and U.S. Senate candidate Tim Neville, whom pro-choice activists accused last week of inciting clinic violence through their use of “extreme” rhetoric.
“Never have I called for violence. In fact, we abhor the actions of the violent shooter,” Klingenschmitt also said during the radio interview (at 4:25 below).

I see. For Chaps, his surprisingly not-bad condemnation of the killer was simply about "it's too soon to talk about abortion". But he couldn't stay away from the incendiary rhetoric for too long. It's back to calling them murderers and lying about them profiting from the sale of baby parts. Where have I heard that last phrase lately?
Teh Church Lady's gotta' do what he dos …
… "Satan!!!!"
… "let's defeat them demonic demons and show them the true power of the almighty — American dollar! Amen."
Well, isn't that s-p-e-c-i-a-l?
When he exorcises demons from their human vessels do they projectile vomit as their head spins a full 360?
Can't wait to see how Fladen spins this one.
Not going to spin it. He is wrong. Period.
I had made prior plans to do a counter-protest of the weekly protest down at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood this Saturday with another person or two now that the weekly protests are resuming. I'll be there (with the kids) unless childcare duties get in the way. I also may bring fresh baked bread. I hope others would be interested in showing.
Good for you, Elliot.
Credit where it is due….
i used to counter protest Carmody's group all of the time when I lived in Springs as PP was maybe a three minute walk for me. I think I was always alone
Saturday at least one other person is supposed to show up at about 8:30 am there. Our theme will be that Personhood has no substantial basis in scripture. That is the theme I used in past and it caused some fun conversations
if you are free Saturday morning please consider coming
Good on you, Elliot. Way to defy stereotypes.
a BIT too far for me to come … but I appreciate the effort to counter-protest.

Since were playing the Scripture card can we talk about how slavery is a good thing, why it is okay to wipe out entire cities. I would also like to talk about how women need to be obedient to their husbands and sleep outside during their time of the month?
Thank you, Elliot. We disagree a lot, but you're a good man. How'd it go?
Carmody's canceled purportedly when he heard we'd be there with bread. Thus, only two protesters showed (instead of say 50-100) and there were four of us counter protestors. The guardian showed up (freelancers I think) interviewed us, witnessed one of the protestors acting crazy/cussing us out (other protestor was cool), and got video of me handing out bread.
Worst part though is I paid a heavy personal price. Lost a close family friend who basically said she would not want her family to have anything to do with somebody who would counter-protest the planned parenthood protestors. Weirdly she claimed my passing out challah was intended to mock the Eucharist (it obviously wasn't)
Sorry for your loss, truly.
Still, sounds more like a "regular acquaintance" than a "friend."
Nope. His kids slept over at our apartment and we stayed at his place during the Waldo Canyon fire. We called each other family…and like my family he put religion in front of relationships
That's nice Elliot but don't you vote for Republicans who would vote the same way as Chaps on all relevant legislation with the only material difference being that they avoid the ultra wacko rhetoric while doing so, though still joining Chaps in his lies about what the dishonestly edited videos show, the selling of baby parts for profit and contending that abortion represents a holocaust? Just using slightly less crazy rhetoric to say pretty much the same things? Isn't that where the rubber hits the road?
You have nothing but guilt by association. Klingenschmitt is gone after the primary.
Well, now we'll always have Trump.
Why, is Klingenschmitt guilty of something — associating with you, perhaps?
Why…what's he done wrong?
His demon taxonomy is contradicted by Pat Robertson's. Since $700Club > $PIJN, Robertson wins and Chaps must be stone washed and shrink away.
Apparently not much. If his views are so fringe than why would a former party chair say…
