votebuttonSouth Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham made it official today and mercifully put an end to his bid for the Republican Presidential nomination.

You know what that means! Click after the jump to cast your vote on “Who will be the next Republican Candidate to drop out of the race for President?” If you need a cheat sheet, check out the Colorado Pols Guide to the Republican Race for President.

Please remember our polling etiquette here at Colorado Pols. We want to know what you think will happen next, not what you might prefer. Cast your vote after the jump, and then take a look at how Colorado Pols readers voted in our last poll on this subject in late November:

  1. I went with the one person on that list whom I could conceivably vote for in a general election – Pataki. He's rational enough to know that his candidacy is an exercise in futility.

BTW, is Gilmore still in the race?

  2. On the bubble:

Pataki's in it because "former Presidential Candidate" works well for building a client list/gunning for a Cabinet post, so he'll be in till Iowa, maybe New Hampshire.

Huckabee will drop out after Iowa once he realizes no one there remembers his win there in '08.

Kasich will stay in for as long as his money will allow, and will need a good showing in Iowa and New Hampshire to shore up his VP cred.

My vote is for Paul. He's not gaining traction and he'll need to start focusing on his Senate re-election soon.

    1. I am with you Orange. I do not think we should underestimate the "book tour" component of Huckabee and Santorum's campaigns.  As long as they can continue to run their campaigns at a breakeven level, they will stick it out as an investment in future book sales and speaking fees.  They know they will never be elected and they do not care.  Pataki and Kasich are holding out to be the last man standing representing the moderate wing of the GOP. They are both hoping to pull enough numbers in the primary to trade their endorsement for a cabinet position (or maybe ambassadorship).  Again, they know they are not going to win, but they believe that if they stick it out through a few primaries, they will have some leverage to get a paycheck from a republican administration. That leaves Paul.  He has a day job.  He is not going to get a job in anyone's cabinet.  It is time to call it a day.

    2. "Chris Matthews asks the Hardball Roundtable to tell him something he doesn’t know…. Huffington Post’s Howard Fineman take the challenge.

Fineman says his Kentucky sources say that despite falling well behind in the Republican race, Rand Paul might not be so inclined to drop out early. Having convinced the Kentucky Republican party to hold a separate primary for his Senate seat next March, it would be even more embarrassing for him to exit before his home state’s presidential primary. Especially since his seat is now more secure after another tea party candidate – Matt Bevin – has won the Governorship in that state."

  3. I voted JEB¿ . . .

. . . don't really think it's likely to happen, but I do like thinking that one day soon he might wake up, phone his mommy, and say, "I don't care what you and Daddy want anymore, I'm tired of this shit!"

  4. Carson has burned his money up, even the religion first voters have abandoned him.  He cannot out crazy Trump leaving him without any coverage now.  He will have to quit because his foreign advisors (sort of like voices in his head) are gone, although he had no need for them in the first place.  Carson will wander off into the foothills looking for something, but he will not be the next black guy in the White House to drive the white supremacists Republicans crazy.
