    1. Speaking of the little weasel,…

… wonder who he'll be endorsing as the Republican flavor-o-the-day today now that his hair-apparent bff flamed out so badly last night???

  1. Welll, after Iowa and NH we now know Trump's disgusting supporters will not only show up at rallies but come out to caucus for him. Thanks a lot, GOP, for wacko pandering this disgrace to our nation into being. I hope it drives a stake through the party's shriveled heart.

    1. At the risk of sounding a bit like the Modster, I would not be surprised if Bernie just peaked, and it'll (for the most part) be the Hillary show from here on out.

        1. On the Dem side, I think this is truly the last hurrah for the Boomer generation.

Regardless of whether Bernie and his kids get the nomination or if Hillary does, we need, and will no doubt get, a new generation of younger candidates for the next time.

But just like with McGovern in 1972, we Boomers will pick this year's nominee, and so that means the odds are definitely in HRC's favor.

CW regarding the GOP is that their party's self-inflicted crack up has been many years in the making. So while no one could have predicted Trump's rise specifically, the end result of years of paranoia, hate-mongering, unrealistic expectations and broken promises thoroughly disillusioning and angering their base was not hard to predict.

      1. Bernie's now on the radar for the undecideds and those who have been saying "Hillary" for lack of another viable candidate. Clinton is only at 50% in Nevada, where the two head next. Bernie's down at 30%, leaving 20% undecided. It's a caucus state, so activists only need apply. If Bernie repeats his Iowa performance in Nevada, Clinton could have cascading troubles. This kind of scenario is recurrent in our primary system.

Clinton does have a solid leg up (so far) in South Carolina and the upcoming sequence of primary states, but the big Sanders win last night shows that isn't set in stone – he was down zillions of points in New Hampshire as recently as last June, and at best swapping poll positions with Clinton through most of the summer and fall.

        1. he was down zillions of points in New Hampshire as recently as last June

          Not too surprising:

The 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders … began with a formal announcement by Sanders on May 26, 2015

I think we have more primaries than caucuses, thus my feeling that HRC will prevail, barring any major stumbles.  Not a cakewalk though, by any means

    2. Why? If you think he should because of Bernie's success, with super delegates ( I read it was 8 with 6 already committed to HRC going in) HRC is still tied with Bernie. And next up, much better landscapes for HRC.

    1. Hmmm.  Apparently you can listen to the seditious bastards on a live stream from Fort Idiocracy.  There are some weird drops– obviously these folks aren't rocket surgeons– and I'm not clear what nutballs on the outside are carrying on this conversation with them.

It’s weird to hear how divorced from reality these folks are firsthand.

      1. Live stream from Oregon sounding pretty heated. (and incoherent) Sample:

CONSTITUTION! YOU'RE A LIE! GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!

from law enforcement: We've got out job to do…

Woman's voice: Is that your job, to kill us?

        FUCK YOU!

        law enforcement: Be reasonable.

woman's voice: WE FEAR FOR OUR LIVES! (repeated twice)

CONSTITUTION SAYS WE FIGHT ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC! NOW DEFEND IT!

        ….etc

      1. What I don't understand is why the government still allows his cattle to graze on the people's land without paying the fees he owes us. It's our government and it needs to protect the land that belongs to us from seditionists who are taking it from us for their own private use without paying us what they owe us to use it.

      2. Hey – now that's a good idea… Bundy away from the ranch and most of his protection. I'm guessing that defying a court order by gathering an insurgent group to point guns at federal officers might be worth an arrest.

      1. This one, hopefully, but the wings are full of wingnuts, waiting to take the stage. This will simply be provocation, in the twisted minds of the hateful, for further violence.

I don't have much hope that it will ever really end.
