Take note of this brief report from Politico:
Rep. Paul Ryan has committed to dramatically ramping up his fundraising appearances to help fellow House Republicans, a move that will help boost his political muscle among GOP lawmakers and bring piles of cash to the party’s election arm.
Ryan, the former GOP vice presidential candidate and current chairman of the House Budget Committee, has 20 political events scheduled between now and the end of 2013, according to a Republican aide…
“House Republicans are thankful for Chairman Ryan’s dedication to growing the House majority and his generous commitment to his colleagues and the NRCC,” said Andrea Bozek, a committee spokeswoman. “As one of the biggest draws in politics, it’s not surprising that Ryan’s approval rating is rock solid with independents, conservatives and our donor community.”
We'll be very curious to see if Rep. Paul Ryan, 2012's GOP vice presidential nominee, makes an appearance on behalf of Colorado's most endangered Republican incumbent Rep. Mike Coffman. A Ryan/Coffman joint event might make for a good fundraiser with conservatives, but Ryan could serve as an uncomfortable reminder of so much of Coffman's record that he is now trying to leave behind. Coffman no longer represents the deep red constituency formerly the stomping ground of the hard-right Rep. Tom Tancredo, and barely survived last year against a weak opponent in a district refashioned into one of the most competitive in America.
This means that when the local pro-choice "Fertilized Eggs" show up to protest Ryan, as you can be assured they will, they'll also protest Coffman's co-sponsorship of a bill with Rep. Todd Akin to restrict federal abortion coverage to cases of "forcible," or if you will, "legitimate" rape. And Ryan with Coffman can't help but call to mind Old Coffman's view that Social Security is a "Ponzi scheme." To be fair, we haven't actually heard if that is also the view of New Coffman®.
You know, folks, maybe Ryan should just steer clear of Coffman altogether. This is a bit of a minefield.

Now, guvs, look at the great job Ryan did helping out Romney. I think Ryan's help will be just what Coffman 2.0 ordered. Why, with just a little luck, Ryan will tank Coffman the way he tanked Romney. Paul Ryan could be the gift that keeps on giving. . . .
But the donors love him. What does that say about the donors? Do they like hampering their own investments?
I don't think they can see the political forest for the ideological trees…The Obama-hatred is so intense…
Maybe. Or maybe it's Ryan's chiseled jawline.
His chiseled jaw, . . . his rakish coal black head of hair, . . . his firm abdomen, the result of 50 push-ups every morning and untold nights of strenuous exercise . . .
Republiporn . . . I hope this is just a quickly passing fad??!!??
He was still a young and verile man, while she was graying and mature. But the years had been kind to her, and she still had that certain gleam in the eye and je ne sais quoi about her. She carried herself with such elegance and charm. Rushing from one campaign event to the next with her, with hormones raging through his body, he masked his true desires well. All he could think about was that bubis…
Sorry.
My bad HS GOP FG …. you hit 'post' while I was commenting!
I think someone just gave Jaxine Bubis an idea….
Because nothing says 'Winner' to today's GOP like last year's loser…
I'm just sad Ryan's old running mate didn't come to Aspen to join in with Rove in spearheading the partys efforts to better connect with the common unwashed.
You know how some of us get all nostalgic about the old days and Eisenhowewr Republicans? This is a little off topic but just as a reminder of how wacked out the GOP has become that a guy like Coffman has to worry about how how to say anything halfway reasonable, now that his district has gone purple, without ticking off the base, I bring you a peak at the Republican platform of 1956 and a few thoughts from Ike:
